Independent Living Systems Strengthens Care Management Leadership with Key Executive Promotions

Miami, FL. (August 2026) — Independent Living Systems (ILS) today announced several leadership promotions to its health plan care management team, led by the appointment of Tatiana Pita as Senior Vice President of Care Management.

Amanda Chin and Nancy Hernandez have each been promoted to Vice President of Care Management, while Maria Devisme has been promoted to Senior Director of Care Coordination for the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Comprehensive Managed Care (ICMC) program.

The leadership appointments reflect ILS’ continued growth and its ongoing investment in the people who coordinate care for tens of thousands of Medicare and Medicaid members served through Florida Community Care (FCC) and Florida Complete Care (FC2).

Earlier this year, ILS celebrated its #500CMStrong milestone, recognizing more than 500 care managers across Florida. As the organization’s largest department, Care Management serves as the foundation of its person-centered model, helping members navigate complex healthcare systems, access essential services, and remain healthy and independent in their homes and communities.

Care managers serve as trusted advocates for members, coordinating medical, behavioral, and social services while building lasting relationships with individuals, families, providers, and community organizations. Their work helps remove barriers to care, improve health outcomes, and enhance quality of life for some of Florida’s most vulnerable populations.

The promotions also support the continued expansion of ILS’ managed care programs, including services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the ICMC program.

• Tatiana Pita, Senior Vice President of Care Management: Tatiana brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare leadership, care management, and community-based services. Tatiana has dedicated her career to developing innovative care models that improve outcomes and help individuals remain healthy and independent in their communities. Throughout her leadership career, she has built high-performing care management teams, guided complex healthcare programs, and strengthened partnerships across the healthcare continuum. In her role as Senior Vice President of Care Management, she will oversee Care Management operations across Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, supporting more than 500 care managers statewide and advancing the organization’s person-centered approach to care.

• Amanda Chin, Vice President of Care Management: Amanda holds a Master of Social Work degree and has dedicated her career to empowering others, bringing compassion, leadership, and expertise to support diverse populations and help individuals thrive. Since joining Florida Community Care in 2018 as a Care Manager, she has advanced through several leadership roles, including Care Manager Supervisor, Care Management Director, and Assistant Vice President of Care Management, helping drive excellence in member care.

• Nancy Hernandez, Vice President of Care Management: Nancy brings more than three decades of experience in care management and social services, with a career dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations and improving access to quality care. She joined Florida Community Care in 2018 as Director of Care Management and was later promoted to Associate Vice President of Care Management for Regions A-F. Prior to FCC, Nancy served as Regional Manager for Aetna Better Health of Florida’s Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program. She began her career in New York City, providing case management services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, homeless families, and survivors of domestic violence.

• Maria Devisme, Senior Director of Care Coordination – ICMC: Maria brings more than 35 years of healthcare experience, including 13 years in long-term care and eight years with Florida Community Care. Since joining FCC, she has played a key role in advancing care coordination services, beginning as a Long-Term Care Supervisor before being selected to lead ICMC Care Coordination following the launch of FCC’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities pilot program. She was later promoted to Senior Director of Care Coordination, where she continues to lead programs that support members with complex needs.
