Miami, FL. (July 2026) – Independent Living Systems (ILS), a leader in providing person-centered, comprehensive health and social care for vulnerable populations, announced today that Jennifer Krusa has joined the organization as Chief Compliance Officer. Krusa’s appointment is part of a broader expansion of the company’s Compliance team as ILS continues to grow its services and reach.
Krusa brings more than 25 years of healthcare and corporate compliance experience to ILS. She has led compliance programs and regulatory initiatives for organizations including PharmScript, OptumRx, CVS Health and Omnicare. Her experience includes building enterprise compliance programs, overseeing ethics and regulatory initiatives, managing organizational risk, and helping healthcare organizations navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
The expansion of ILS’ Compliance team reflects the continued growth and increasing complexity of the organization’s operations. As ILS continues to grow and expands its relationships with health plans, providers, government agencies and community partners, a strong Compliance function is essential to ensuring that the company grows responsibly and maintains the trust of those it serves.
“Compliance is fundamental to how we operate,” said Nestor Plana, Chairman and CEO of Independent Living Systems. “As ILS continues to grow, we must also strengthen the teams and systems that help us uphold the highest standards of ethics, accountability and integrity.
Jennifer’s experience and leadership, along with the addition of other accomplished compliance professionals, will help ensure that we continue doing business the right way while delivering exceptional service to our members, clients and partners.”
The ILS Compliance team helps ensure the organization follows applicable laws, regulations and contractual requirements; safeguards member information; prevents fraud, waste and abuse; identifies and manages risk; and promotes a culture of ethics and integrity. Its work supports ILS’ ability to provide high-quality, person-centered services while maintaining the confidence of members, providers, clients, regulators and other stakeholders.
In addition to Krusa’s appointment, ILS has recently added other experienced professionals to key Compliance leadership positions:
- Christopher Horan, Vice President of Health Plans Compliance: Horan brings more than 20 years of healthcare compliance and regulatory experience, including senior leadership roles with Centene and WellCare Health Plans. His expertise includes corporate investigations, fraud, waste and abuse prevention, risk management, regulatory oversight, and Medicare and Medicaid compliance. He is a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Winona State University.
- Chryshanee McNeely: Based in California, McNeely brings more than 15 years of healthcare compliance experience, including leadership roles with Elevance Health and Anthem.
