Independent Living Systems Honored to Support Alzheimer’s Awareness Through Successful Partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association

Miami, FL, Jan. 26th, 2024 – Independent Living Systems, a leading provider of health and social services for complex populations in Medicare, Medicaid, and Dual-Eligible markets, finished out 2023 by providing almost $90,000 in employee fundraising and corporate sponsorships to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease through its partnership with the Alzheimer’s association.

The commitment- which was capped with nearly 100 employees, friends and family joining the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Miami earlier this month- will make a powerful impact on the lives of millions affected by this devasting disease.

ILS employees across the country championed the cause by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Florida, New York, and California. Together, the company was among the Top 50 nationwide in fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Along with the public showing of support, employees came together internally to answer the challenge. They held bake sales, carnivals, and other fundraising to help raise dollars for research and awareness.

“Our team is passionate about making a positive impact in the communities we serve. Alzheimer’s is a cause close to our hearts, and we are honored to contribute both financially and through active participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s events. Our goal is to support the Alzheimer’s Association in their mission to advance research and provide essential resources for those affected by this devastating disease,” said Nestor Plana, Chairman and CEO of ILS. “Alzheimer’s disease touches countless families, and we are dedicated to supporting the Alzheimer’s Association in its critical mission to provide care, education, and hope.”

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s events serve as a cornerstone in the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

The collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association aligns with Independent Living Systems’ broader commitment to corporate social responsibility. The company recognizes the importance of engaging in philanthropic initiatives that address critical health issues and contribute to the well-being of communities.
