Miami, FL. (June 2026) – Independent Living Systems (ILS), a leading provider of person-centered health and social care solutions for vulnerable populations, was proud to serve as a sponsor of the 2026 National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) Directors Forum and Federal Policy Symposium, held June 15–17 in Arlington, Virginia.
The annual gathering brings together state intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) agency leaders and policy experts from across the country to discuss federal legislation, regulatory changes, and emerging challenges facing home and community-based services (HCBS) systems.
The conference held particular significance for Florida Community Care (FCC), an Independent Living Systems company, as FCC is the only managed care organization participating in Florida’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Comprehensive Managed Care (ICMC) Program. Following a legislatively authorized competitive procurement, FCC was selected to administer the program, initially launching a pilot program in two regions in the state on October 1, 2024, before expanding statewide in 2025.
ICMC provides eligible individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a single, coordinated system for Managed Medical Assistance (MMA), Long-Term Care (LTC), and developmental disability waiver services. By integrating healthcare and support services under one managed care model, the program helps individuals achieve better health outcomes and live more independently in their communities.
ILS and FCC representatives participated in discussions throughout the conference focused on strengthening care coordination, expanding access to services, and advancing person-centered approaches that empower individuals and families.
