Independent Living Systems Earns NCQA Wellness And Health Promotion Recertification

ILS has been NCQA WHP certified since 2014 for the tools they use to assess individuals with special needs

Miami, FL, May 20, 2022 – Independent Living Systems (ILS), a privately-owned, Miami-based national health care services company, is pleased to announce that they have received the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Wellness and Health Promotion (WHP) recertification.

In earning the certification, ILS has passed a stringent review of itshealth appraisal and self-management tools. ILS has been NCQA WHP certified since 2014 for the tools they use to assess individuals with special needs. To achieve the certification, ILS demonstrated that their Health Risk Assessment adheres to evidence-based guidelines as well as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act’s security protocols. More than 7,000 members are evaluated by the tool each year.

“We are thrilled to receive our NCQA recertification and the recognition that the tools we use to assess social determinants of health are among the most advanced in the industry,” said Maureen Lillis, Chief Clinical Transformation Officer for ILS. “This certification process allows for a rigorous review of our tools to make sure we are operating at the highest standards, and we are very pleased with the results.”

The WHP standards are purposely set high to encourage organizations to continuously enhance their quality. The standards are intended to help organizations achieve the highest level of performance possible, increase healthy behavior change in eligible individuals, and create an environment of continuous improvement. “NCQA’s Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation requires organizations to demonstrate their compliance with well-defined standards and quality measures, said Margaret E. O’Kane, NCQA President. The NCQA seal will provide employers and consumers with the information they need to choose the best program in their markets.”
