Nestor Plana is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ILS. With nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare and public/private development and management, the focus of Mr. Plana’s business interests has been delivering innovative healthcare services for vulnerable populations.
Before launching ILS, Mr. Plana was the founding president and COO of Beacon Health Plan in South Florida, where he led the implementation of one of the state’s first long-term care waiver programs in partnership with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. His early career includes executive leadership roles at Mercy Hospital Systems, chairmanship of United Home Health Care, and service on the Florida Long-Term Care Committee.
Mr. Plana’s trailblazing contributions have earned national recognition. He was named Ernst & Young’s Health and Life Sciences Entrepreneur of the Year (Florida) in 2016, and in 2010, Health Evolution Partners honored him as Health Care Innovator of the Year. Other accolades include the Florida Award in Distinction from the American Federation for Aging Research and recognition as one of South Florida’s Movers and Shakers. In 2022, he was named one of Miami’s Top 50 Business Leaders by U.S. Business Report.
