Independent Living Systems formed in 2001, with the goal of helping health plans and other organizations deliver community-based services as an alternative to costly institution-based care.
Since then, we’ve grown into a national health services company and industry leader — and one of the country’s first long-term care diversion programs. We’ve added and improved innovative solutions over time to reduce costs, improve quality and better support people’s desire to live at home.

FCC Awarded New Pilot Program
The Comprehensive Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Pilot Program was awarded to FCC to bring additional services and managed care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
ILS Grows Its Home Care Line of Business
We launched two new services as part of our Homecare Services program—ILS Medical Supplies (DME) and ILS Pharmacy.
ILS Establishes Florida Complete Care
We launched a Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage in 15 Florida counties under the subsidiary Florida Complete Care.
ILS Establishes Florida Community Care
We were awarded and implemented a statewide contract as a Medicaid managed care plan under the subsidiary Florida Community Care.
ILS Receives an Additional Contract in Florida
We were awarded the Community Care for the Elderly contract in Florida.
ILS Expands Its Programs in Florida and California
We launched a statewide LTSS program for existing Florida MCOs. We also implemented a Community-Based Care Management Program throughout California.
ILS Acquires Royal Healthcare
We completed the acquisition of Royal Healthcare, a business and technology provider that delivers fully integrated Third-Party Administration solutions.
ILS Starts Programs in Other States
We began Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) programs in New York, California, Virginia, South Carolina and Illinois.
ILS Introduces Care Management
We introduced Transitional Care Management and Care Management models of care. Both have successfully reduced hospital readmission rates by as much as 65%.
ILS Provides Targeted Nutrition Benefits
We added meals and nutritional counseling services to provide targeted nutrition benefits to members nationwide.
ILS Focuses on Nursing Home Diversion
We implemented nursing home diversion pilots in Florida.
ILS Adds Pediatrics
We implemented a Pediatric Managed Service Organization in Florida.
