Our Foundation
Independent Living Community Services (ILCS) is a non-profit entity that leverages our programs at Independent Living Systems (ILS), further extending our mission — to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable populations.
Ward Tower Senior Social Center
For nearly 20 years, our foundation, ILCS, has been proud to support Ward Tower as a “home away from home” for hundreds of residents in our Miami-Dade County community. The first facility of its kind, Ward Tower focuses on low-income elderly residents who want to live in a safe and comfortable place to enjoy their golden years.
Together with our partners—Miami-Dade Housing Agency, Miami-Dade County Public Housing and Community Development Department (PHCD), Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) Development Corporation and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)—we promote, encourage and assist seniors with personal growth, independence and psychological well-being.
ILS has donated approximately $666,700 to Ward Tower for operational expenses, including a recent remodel. Through ILCS, we help Ward Tower receive millions of dollars in program income, grants and small private contributions.
